Does it really make sense for midi parts to crossfade? For audio it
would be good as long as it is possible to turn on/off as you mention.

Maybe this is a pecularity of muse that we support unlimited stacked
parts on a track.
Perhaps it is only useful when there are exactly two parts overlapping.

Also recall the discussion we had a few months ago about adjustible
fade ins and outs. Crossfades are another piece of the puzzle.
