I like Eclipse, but I like IDEA better.  IDEA isn’t as well known, and it costs some money (although nothing like the insane prices JBilder demands), but the OTI people (I know one of them, from the shop in Switzerland, who I’ve met a few times here in Germany) will tell you that IDEA is the only IDE on the market that they consider as worthy competition.  IDEA also has a number of famous evangelists, the most notable probably being Martin Fowler.   I find that very few Eclipse zealots have ever tried IDEA, but that the reverse is true of IDEA zealots – that is, most IDEA zealots seem to have tried Eclipse as well, and like IDEA better.  I suspect that means something.  :-)   I am more productive with IDEA than any other IDE I’ve ever tried.  You really ought to take a look at it, if you’ve got the time.   http://www.intellij.com/idea/   Cheers, Mark
