I can't answer to that for Alan, because I didn't take the exam then.
 If LPI specifically stated "ACTIVE" for 10 years, then Alan has a
case.

But I _did_ take it when you did.  And at that time LPI did *NOT*
promise such!  They only promised "perpetual" certification and entry
in their database.

Exactomundo.  And if you read the terms of your certification
agreement, as I did, you'll find LPI has the right to inform anyone
of the date and the status of that perpetual certification.
