Well, as others have pointed out, /etc/bashrc is just not a standard part
of bash, it is sourced by the standard ~/.bashrc supplied by RedHat and
perhaps others, but not, it seems, Debian.

Yes, this would have been the correct answer, but did not appear.
Is there any mechanism to review and fix the questions that are in use?
Finally, I am not interested in having my test rescored or redone, simply
in getting the questions fixed.
