Wilma, and the rest of the LPI team,

As a continuation of discussion of Mark Stanislav's <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> email to you, I ran across a letter from Gene Salois, Vice President of Certification, CompTIA, who stated the following in a Letters to the Editor concerning LPI / CompTIA comparison in the December 2003 issue of Certification Magazine.

"While review of the domains of the two exams may indicate similar content, the depth of knowledge required to pass the Linux+ and LPIC Level 1 is quite different. CompTIA Linux+ is clearly more of an entry-level certification when compared to LPIC Level 1, which requires more advanced knowledge. "

"Additional study and experience beyond Linux+ will put these professionals in much better position to pass the LPIC Level 1 and other more advanced Linux certifications."

Steve
