I have been reading this thread/topic for sometime and thought I would
add-in my worth [which might not even be worth $0.02] - having been a
RHCE for the past 12 months and having done quite a bit of work with
linux after and prior to the certification, I would like to add that
in practicially, the knowledge and know-how to setup samba, bind,
dhcp, sendmail etc from the command line, doesn't necessary mean that
you will score well in the LPI exams. The exams are online - there are
no man pages, no other source of information. You only have what is on
the screen and your squeezy little brain to work with. Either you know
it or you don't. Its that simple.

Perhaps that's the main reason why I have been hestiating taking up
the challenge to get myself LPI-Level1 certified - simply because I'm
afraid I will not make the grade. I'm more of a doer than a thinking
man, if you get my drift. Add to that, the need to use "man" sometimes
doesn't really make me all that comfortable.

PS - Sidenote: Really looking forward to LPI making the headlines in
Singapore. Where are you guys?

Roy Ong - RHCE, Singapore.
