This piques my interest only because adding the changes to regular expressions will be a big deal for a sysadmin. Perhaps many will return to using shell scripts for complex regular expressions and less perl (for example).

Level 1 touches only very basic bash features. Maybe someone should check if the exam objectives still apply to Bash 3. But I assume there will be no reports of conflicts.

The relevance of the added Bash features in the daily sysadmin tasks will be detected by LPI's certification program development cycle
eventually.

To make LPI's 2-year-cycle possible, we must help with the exam development tools, though. Those tools will allow an early snapshot of the current sysadmin tasks and enough time to fine tune and discuss the exam objectives before the final release followed by exam development and exam publishing.

Especially as book authors, courseware vendors, and trainers need some time to react on exam objective revisions, we need to publish exam objectives very early. Otherwise the books will lack in practical relevance when they come from the printing press.

So, please assist in LPI's program development whenever there is a call for help. Thank you!
