As a quick answer, the demand to make it cost effective from a marketing
point of view isn't there.  From a technical point of view, I don't care.
There wasn't any proof of demand for LPIC-1 either.

I straddle the developer and admin camps a lot but consider myself more of a
developer (at least preference-wise).  So I would like to see a road map
developed for an OSS developer programme.  After the LPIC-3 roadmap, though.

Also, I see no problem in partnering with others to fill out the exams, too.
I've spoken with some people at Zend and they did create their certification
in a manner that fits with LPI (psychometrics, etc).  If it makes sense to
offer 'credit' for the Zend PHP cert, I'm all for it.
