Alan,
I think maybe you don't understand the $5 and $6 args. They are for
awk. It tells which
field within the file contains the version number. In Redhats
/etc/redhat-release file,
the 5th field is the version number.
Also, you want to add your testing code before the last entry. The last
entry is a catch-all
entry.
When installing the 2.09 series of packages,
here is what you need:
lts_core Must have this
lts_kernel Need this too
lts_x_core Need this if you want X windows
lts_x_fonts Need this if you want local fonts. you can also use XFS
for fonts but this is easier
lts_localapps Need this if you want to run local apps
lts_local_netscape An example of a local application.
ltsp_initrd_kit Needed if you want to build your own kernels
ltsp_util_src This is the source code for the little utility
programs used by LTSP.
