thanks for the tip. tried it, permutating it with S0, and S1, did not work. however, when i tried it with psaux, i get the graphical login screen, with a frozen mouse pointer and everything else working, which is strange. meanwhile, i also tried adding a line MODULE_0x = serial in the section for the workstation, with no luck. do i need to have the serial in quotes, as in "serial" ? some more details: the [default] has X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 400 in the workstation area, i have overriden this to X_MOUSE_RESOLUTION = 50 X_MOUSE_BAUD = 1200 as stated in the documentation. no luck. what else could i try? i also tried X_MOUSE_DEVICE = /dev/input/mice but that did not work either. have also tried /dev/mouse ??
