yup, am already using this procedure, more to keep my sanity intact as i
have been battling with the mouse for quite some time. :-)

am off-site at the moment. worked till late in the night until a
thunderstorm brought an end to my experiments. unfortunately a long
weekend is approaching here so looks like i can't check out more until
tuesday. nevertheless, am going to try to email this to a colleague in
the hope of atleast getting some check done tomorrow.

thanks david for your response. i just hope this problem gets resolved
once we attack it again. will keep the list informed of the progress. i
just hope this gets resolved as it has held up the migration of dozens
of systems and threatens to revert the installations to non-free
alternatives....
