I keep having lots of crashes, too. Funny enough, it only happens on my thin
clients (Jammin 125's), not several stations that actually boot their own
Linux and simply query the X server, which makes me think it might be
something in the LTSP kernel.

I enabled NFS swap, and that helped for a while, and I also changed the gdm
ping timeout, which seemed to make a bit of a difference, but nothing has made
the problem go away.

These constant crashes have been the situation for over six months. I tried
checking whether it was RAM leakage by telnetting to the client, but never
came up with anything at all.

Hi Jeff,

I also have problems with crashes on my Jammin-125s. I have 12 of them
and it seems that any one of them at any time during the day will lock
up. There is no rhyme or reason to this. I also monitored memory usage
and there doesn't appear to be any leaking at all.

I had actually posted on this issue a while back, but I got no
responses; however, I'm convinced that the issue is the video driver and
I'm hoping that the 4.4 version of X (now Xorg) will fix those
problems. I had actually had this same problem in the past using LTSP
3, but when I upgraded to the latest x_core (I think that one used
xfree86 4.2), the lock-up problems went away. Now with LTSP 4, I'm back
to square one and if LTSP 4.1 doesn't fix it, I may roll back to LTSP 3,
which I really don't want to do.
