I think the problem is not the positioning. We can easiky have
        Master/lib/<ARCH>/...
and include that in some way. The problem is with portability within
the same arch/os combinations, from CentOS over SuSE to Debian et cetc,
all would need to be usable with *the*same* .so.

I am not sure if that works, we haven't tried. And I am not sure
I want t ask all builders to try it out ;-)
