When you send mail to any user on your server from outside your network, Do you get a bounce message? With what error? What are the mail logs on the server 'saying'?

Can you successfully telnet to port 25 on the public IP of your mail server?

You basically need to verify if the problem is your mailserver configuration or your NAT/PAT configuration on your router, then you would know what (and how) to fix.
