Wine is short for "Wine Is Not an Emulator". Yes Linux guys have a sense of humor. It is an app that allows you to run windows apps on linux. The last time I used it I felt like I had to be some kind of hacker/techie/guru and that the windows apps had to be really simple and not reference libraries all over the place.
