The burden of proof rests with the claimant, that much is true. Mr Buguete has shown adequate evidence IMHO that the instrument in question was the one which was used by Weiss. Cf Andre Burguete, Die Wiederauffindung der Theorbe von Silvius Leopold Weiß (sic!), in: Theatrum Instrumentorum Dresdense, ed. by W. Steude and H.-G. Ottenberg, Schriften zur mitteldeutschen Musikgeschichte vol. 11, Schneverdingen 2003 (Germany), pp. 65-94. -- Mathias To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
