I second that: take care with stretching. It's my observation that those who are already flexible, can do those exercises. Those who have stiffer tendons, should not try to do the same. I have a nasty case of De Quervain Tendinitis (troubled tendon at the base of the thumb), and over-stretching/too much playing is to blame. The closing remark of the doctor is spot-on: in my hospital there is a special department for musicians, as they tend to have specific complaints, but also specific behaviour, all demanding specific treatment ...
