That's certainly one way to do it. Some other open-source online videoconferencing software provides stronger moderator tools, such as Big Blue Button, which LUV has used to good effect in the past. It might be that a more-informal set of arrangements would work, too. I would actually recommend going light on moderator control unless/until it proves needed, but prepare in advance to use the available controls if they're required.
