>Per-folder configuration??? Haven't looked at it yet, but unfortunately it >somewhat reminds me of MSWinExplorer. >What config options does it embrace: file sorting order? size of icons? >(hopefully, not a folder background picture?) I believe I've listed all of them already: it is file sorting options in the view, flag 'show hidden', and view mode. And yes, it is completely optional, in difference to all other file managers which support that. >Is it hard / slow to toggle these options via menus (or by clicking on the >file manager tabs, I've not learned yet what configs are those). It is not hard of course but it is quite annoying if you have to do this manually (change to thumbnail view when you come to Pictures folder for example) when entering some specific folder and then change it back when you leaving it. >Where is the config(s) stored? I hope it's not in each directory (garbage + >potential security problems), but in ~/.config/pcmanfm instead. Both ways. If the file '.directory' already exists then it will be just modified (if requested), otherwise it will be stored in xdg way, into ~/.config/libfm/dir-settings.conf file. >Please don't bloat PCManFM's with unnecessary toy features :) They are necessary, we have few tickets in the tracker requesting them. ;) >> Also there is some controversial layout in the application selection >> dialog ... >Needs screenshots at least... nothing more to say. >> Next thing I want you to test is a Dual Pane mode for pcmanfm >And this toy feature sounds somewhat usable :) >What actions should it support, apart from "drag & drop to copy (or move)"? Nothing changes at all, just one of tabs becomes not hidden but visible so you can see it, switch to it fast, and drag & drop to it. >Best wishes, Bob Regards.
