you are mixing more things together. the current problem was not caused by ftp.lyx.org but with ftp.devel.lyx.org which is/was completely different machine. it used to be our sandbox for more things and i don't think that its too much good idea to join it with official ftp.lyx.org. svn (and git) is question of yet another machine. pavel
