Sorry - wasn't clear about that. Direct links to ONE mirror can be created: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sfdlc/ is doing these conversions, and on the individual mirrors, there is a normal ftp link, e.g for filezilla: ftp://212.219.56.139/sites/ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/sourceforge/f/project/fi/filezilla/FileZilla%20Server/0.9.10/FileZilla_Server-0_9_10.exe so on lyx there could be something like: .../pub/sourceforge/l/project/ly/lyx/lyx/stable/1.6.x/ where the ... is to a certain mirror, and everything below the first /lyx/ is configurable.
