I can confirm that reconfigure is now broken on Linux, but only in 2.0.x,
not in 2.1.1-staging, where the change is as well.

As Vincent noted, the problem here was that the patch was apparently not
tested before being backported to 2.0.x branch. I do not see a relation to
2.1.1-staging here. The problem is that we apparently sometimes forget how
different the code in 2.0.x and 2.1.x is in many places. So if we backport,
we should not just check if a backport compiles (or even only if it
applies), but also test the functionality.

I wonder if the fix works as intended with the Mac in 2.0.x.
