As a LyX beginner (seeking to present beautiful maths and physics articles),

LyX toolbar:...
Dear Gordon,
in the Help menu you already find a useful tutorial how LyX works. For more special things like in
your case math, we have special manuals like the Math manual.
Every LyX toolbar button is explained in the appendices of the LyX userguide you also find in the
Help menu.
We have chosen this way for the documentation because learning special things only makes sense if
you do it in LyX. So you can copy some text from the manuals to your file and get what you want.
We also have a Wiki
wiki.lyx.org
where you find some more information and where you can add things you found out. But it turned out
that the Wiki is not that helpful as if taking an existing LyX file like the documentation files.
For example, soon after I started with LyX, (somehow) 5 lines of
LyX-Reconfigure soon appeared!?
I don't understand. Could you provide a screenshot?
regards Uwe
