A. I'll not open the "bug-report" … I've just been trying to reproduce my experience with my new download (LyX 2.0.5.1, carbon). I cannot get anymore than the one "Reconfigure", which is there on opening and re-opening.
B. But now I note something minor: If you go to LyX on the LyX toolbar while the opening page is in place (by which I mean the colourful page "LyX The Document Processor 2.0.5.1"), then you can read About LyX in the drop down menu. But if you first close that opening window, About LyX is then inoperative.
