This sound familiar. A couple of weeks ago I had to import some
'postscript' created by M$ Word. I took me about a day to figure out
that it starts by drawing a rectangle filled with white - without
respecting any bounding box of course. So the effect when printing was
that all text on the page above the figure was paint over by white.
Once I knew this it was fairly easy to simply remove the offending command
from the .ps file. It was the first 'real' command after several hundred
definitions (perhaps 80% of which have never been used afterwards).

*grin* Seconded ;-)

PS: Does anybody know of some program that reads in postscript and
removes any unnessesary definitions or that lets the user see step by
step what is drawn?
