Transition should be painless, as far as I know. You will just have to
edit lyxrc, since the configuration of the printer has changed a bit,
and to run Option-Reconfigure for each user.

Binaries will be made available when the official version 1.0.0 is
released. We don't have them for 1.0.0pre2, since it is quite a bit of
work.
