Thank you Liviu for this further explanation. I understand that LyX has a history of problems with clipoard managers. In the current case this seems triggered by a buggy version of gpaste, which causes also other problems. But fortunately, there is an easy solution, if gpaste is replaced by another clipboard manager.
I will post this analysis also in the German ubuntuusers-forum, so maybe together we can find the underlying causes of these problems.
