* How to get roman pagenumbering for the first pages, and arabic starting with the first section.

don't use it. it is unimportant for new users. Use instead two versions of the images (eps and pdf) and in the file without an extension. Then the user can run latex or pdflatex. There are only two images in the user guide.
btw: there are some problems with the gmane lists, so I write it again here: there is no sense to talk abaout a wrapped figure. floatflt puts text around _everything_ ...
