Let me add that z:, where my user files are, is a mapped network drive.
So everything is fine now. Maybe writing to the user directory should become standard for
the first configuration and "Tools> Reconfigure"?
We've had misadventures with network drives and roaming profiles under
Windows before. I'm not sure what causes the problems or whether the
developers have found a fix. Without knowing what the network drive
issue is, it's not clear whether writing the initial configuration to
the user directory is necessary, and I'm not sure what the general
implications would be. (Note that, on Windows XP, if you install LyX
for "all users" then the configuration would be written to C:\Documents
and Settings\All Users\..., not to any one user's directory.
At any rate, I'm glad you've got them working.
