Sorry, you're probably are looking in the right place, my bad.

In the Terrminal, use this command:

kpsewhich -var-value TEXMFHOME

If the result is something like this:

/Users/justin/Library/texmf

(where 'justin' is the name of your home directory)

But the 'termf' directory doesn't exist, try creating it and then put the
xetexCV.cls file in it. LyX should see it.
