When I received my first REX I had to make sure that all the little pins in the socket made contact, I had to do a complete restart, and only then did I get a response from the CALL63012. I know from experience that programs in memory can interfere with the call. Don't assume yet that you have a bad solder connection. Try it again and don't be in a hurry.
