Do you have a picture of the thermistor? The bad time and locked keyboard are most likely related since the keyboard scan interrupt is generated by the timer circuit from M18 pin 10 (TP). The problems you have possibly have a common root cause. One option would be to reheat all the pins on M18 when you have the board removed to replace the caps. Just to make sure there are no dry joints on M18 itself.
