OK - I'll try again to answer. There are 36 posts in this thread so far,
so I don't know which ones you're quoting. And most posts contain all the
previous posts, so reading through them is pretty inefficient for me.

Because my usb/serial adapter is exactly that - a single unit with a usb
connector on one end, and a DB9 on the other. It's not an adapter - it's a
cable.

Again, I answer with the facts I know. If someone is searching for
discrepancies, I'm sure you'll find them. I'm doing the best I can.

I really feel very negative about this whole process now. I've tried to be
upbeat, and answer the best I can. When you say "You have to try to be
more careful with things like that." you make me feel like a school boy
being reprimanded. When I say the cable has usb on one end, and db9 on the
other, why not just take that as the answer instead of looking for
discrepancies?

I've tried to hold up my end best I can. When I ask a question, get one
reply from someone, then another member comments on the reply, then another
member corrects one of the replies, then a member suggests I get a new
cable, but suggests the cables in a completely new thread - it's very tough
to sort through all the comments, understand what goes where, and figure
out what to do. There have been multiple references to my "serial cable".
I've never ever used - or mentioned - a serial cable. Only a usb/serial
cable.

I've tried to read and understand the 36 posts in this thread, and the 40+
posts in my first thread. I'm completely underwater and won't cause more
problems for you.

Thanks.
