Uncheck the highjack in the tool bar. For some things it is a great app. For
just recording though there are several apps. For simple recording from the
mike there is an ap call audio recorder. It's been a long time since I've
checked their website though so don't know if it works with lion or m l. Never
used it with either, but it is free and doesn't have time limits as the trial
version of A H does. Of course the limit on audio highjack is that it will
impose white noise on what you are doing. If you had paid for the app then it
would be kind of dumb to just push it over to the side, especially when it can
be used to record streaming and stuff like that.

You just have to remember to turn highjacking off thats all when you have a
live mike going. Amadeus can also record, don't know if you use that app or
not and I would presume sound studio can too, bot of which seem to be good
apps. But Audio Highjack is a neat app to have, just gotta learn it like
anything else.
