Hi eileen, thanks for your constructive response.
I've had this problem with the iones devices as long as I've had the Apex. I've also tried this on an original iPad running iOS5, and also a third generation iPod Touch running same version, with no differences. Not a one of them will even see the Apex! It looks to me like a servsces issue, because the Apex sees the iOS devices but only hands-free and printing services if I which a search from the Apex. Oh yes, and serial service as well. I have made double double sure that the Apex doesn't think it is paired with the phones. So I'm tutally puzzled.

Hi Gordon,

I did read your post earlier, but I was in transit to the market. I am wondering if it is operating system specific. On my iPhone4, I am running 6.1.2 and on my MBA I am running ML. I'm wondering if something got broken with the OS updates for both the iOS and Mavericks. Just a thought.

Hi Glenn

Yes, this is what I'd expect to happen. Oh, and the pairing code is 0000 as with many devices like this. Makes me wonder what is the point of implementing a code at all actually, given that there's 0 security. However, it ain't working for me I'm sorry to say. The Focus does, so I know my problem is related to the Apex. HumanWare UK tell me also that they are seeing similar problems and have alerted the Canadian subsidiary company which is HumanWare's dev envelopment arm and asked them to investigate. As you may have seen in my response to Eileen's post, I have tried numerous devices with the same result each time. But I won't give up, maybe one time
I'll get lucky.

All this brings me to my next question. Is there a definitive source of commands for these displays? This also applies to the Mac as well.

Kind regards

Hi Gordon,
I have done it, I don't recall if the code is four zeros, or the numbers 1 2
3 4.
Seems that one is for the QT, and the other is for the Braille keyboard. So in your IOS device, go to settings, and bluetooth and then go to BlueTooth in the apex connectivity area, and you will be prompted to enter
the numbers on the IOS device.
HTH.

Hello all
Has anybody managed to get an Apex from HumawWare to pair with
an iPhone or iPad? If so, how did you accomplish this truly
amazing feat? No matter how I tryI simply cannot get these
devices to talk to each other. And yet, with the Freedom
Scientific Focus40-blue it just clicked, as soen as I tried.
If any BrailleNote user has managed this, I'd really love to
know how you did it!
Kind regards
