Probably >I am in hospital alot for a serious medical condition. Bummer, but if you were a guy you could hit on the nurses so it wouldn't be so bad, actually, they seem to have more male nurses now so being a sick chick might not be all that bad. > The idea of having a >computer to kill the endless hours of boredom when I can't leave the bed due >to my breathing, was something that appealed to me. I just checked the Apple Canada store and apparently none of the current iMacs have a DVD, you can get an iBook with DVD for 2349, or an iBook with a combo drive (DVD + CD-RW) for 2699, but the screen is only 12.1", much better than 3x3, see below :-) Cheapest TiBook with DVD is 3449, but the screen is HUGE, relatively speaking :-) Movies were quite watchable on a 14.1" PB, pretty sure the Ti would be even better >I just wondered what the DVD's play like on an iMac. Good, assuming it isn't a dumb DVD that only plays well on some HW, they are out there, but my x-wif has an iMac that plays DVDs and the screen is good and the movies are fine, assuming you want to watch it on an iMac > You may think the iMac >screen is pretty small but when you compare it to the 3" X 3" hospital TV >screens, it is huge ! I agree, my mom has been in hospital since last mother's day so i know exactly how a hospital rental looks, and how much it sucks to be in the hospital >Thank you for your feedback. Not sure if you are just sick, or dying, but given my druthers I would buy a TiBook if I wanted to watch DVDs in the hospital, much bigger screen and much more portable, but if i wasn't dying, I would hold out for the combo drive, DVD + CD-RW coming probably in the next upgrade Regards James ___________________________________________________________ James Sedgwick mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sedgwick & Son http://homepage.mac.com/jsedgwick/ Information System Specialists and proud Canadians -- Mac Canada is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
