Hello All,
I have a slot loading 350 Mhz iMac with no Firewire and a read only CD
internal drive.
It's running OS X Panther happily (with 512 MB RAM) and I would like to
upgrade it to Tiger, which can only be installed from DVD.
So I need to upgrade the optical drive, or find another way to install.
Does anyone have a DVD drive for sale (slot loading) that would work in
this machine?
I have tried making a disk image of the DVD, putting it on the iMac
using ethernet, but the install disk doesn't stay mounted when I do the
required restart to install.
Any help appreciated...
