Hi,
     I'm using the September '02 release of Explorer - 5.1.6 - with OS9.1
and CarbonLib 1.6 with no problems except the inevitable 'quits' when it
struggles with complex Java applets, the occasional Perl script and
trying to turn pdf's into html. The application has been slimmed down and
now there are no annoying libs and other extensions littering the system
- the uninstall of 5.0 and previous runs to three pages. Perhaps you've
got some old Explorer stuff in your system.
Currently I give it 80 megs of ram to play with. I've tried most
others and some are ok but none are as good as Explorer. Icab is a nice
little browser but stalls quite frequently and then the preview version
runs out of date after a while. Opera is also pleasant but tends to hang
for no apparent reason. Mozilla is possibly the best of the rest - like
an old version of Navigator without the bulk of Communicator - which is
so big I haven't tried it.

     Pete
