Hello fellow listers,

Here is my lowly Mac with its list of attachments:

Apple Macintosh Performa Power PC Model: 6200 75 MHz./ 500 HD / CD. 64 Mb Ram.

OS: 8.0 & 8.1 & 8.5 & 8.6 REAL PC Emulator: PC Dos 7.

Monitor: 14" Apple Audio / Video. Printer: Apple StyleWriter 2400

Zip Drive: Iomega 250 Mb. Jaz Drive: Iomega 2 Gb CD-RW:
Yamaha 16-10-40.

Scanner: Umax Astra 1220S. External HD's: 18 Gb Analogic & 500 Mb
Gasteiner Atari.

Modem: Global Village 56K. Speakers: Sony SR6 - PD87.

I feel a small user with the listings that have so far been
displayed. How some of you are able to afford so may baffles me.

In the South West there seems to be very little if nothing second
hand around. So trying to beat of her indoors who wants a Windoze
machine and my brother who runs Linux on a PC is a struggle.

I have used my Performa 6200 since bought new in 1995. Touch wood it
still runs OK apart from a few hangs once in a while. If I had known
that it was to be such a Road Apple I would have hung around for the
6400 which was in the shops a few months after I bought the 6200.

As A low earner I have to choose wisely if and when I upgrade. It
has to be expandable so an iMac looks out of the question as it is
almost not expandable. So a G3/G4 is my next aim if I am able to
fight of the why's and wherefores of relatives and friends.

The old statement is always made to me by them ie: WINDOZE users: You
can't get much software for those and no one uses those in work or
schools and PC's are cheaper. Then the Linux user has an open source
software and most of it is free ? a good argument for me on a low
income. Even a secondhand Mac is dearer than a new PC. But the
quality of a Mac is much better.

So anything which prologs the use of my faithful old friend is always welcome.

Sorry the list is so long but some things have to be said some time.
