To summarise - You use ICS built into win 98/200/xp to do NAT service.
Check out www.practicallynetworked.com to understand how the PC side works & how to set it up.
Mac specifics not mentioned:
You can in theory use DHCP for IP lookups but I couldn't ever get it to work with the macs, so I set them manually. Go to TCPIP on the mac. Configure: manually. Set mac IP to 192.168.0.xxx where xxx is free number of your choice. Start high if other PCs are using DHCP, as ICS assigns from xxx=1 upwards, so set manual ones from 255 downwards and you'll not get conflicts.
Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0 Set DNS and router addresses both to 192.168.0.1 and that's it. Oh yes, you'll need to set the proxy settings in Netscape/ie to 192.168.0.1 as well. And you may not be able to send email, though you can receive, it all depends on how paranoid your ISP is.
PS this may seem like gibberish now, but if you read the pc-stuff on the website above, this is the extra you need. I didn't have a clue when I started this project. . .
