Hi,
I'd like to us my hardware pc modem with my 7200 macintosh. Using a
hayes 56k or 28k modem definition and the right kind of cable I can
dial out and get for example tim (123 BT the talking clock) and the modem
seems to
respond.
However when trying to log onto an ISP (various ones attempted eg
abelgratis freeserve tiscali) to sign up I have the errors as follows.
comunicating at unknown speed (I think it should say something here ?)
Remote host failed to respond as expected. (At this point everything
stops.)
My OS is 8.6 (upgraded from 8.1 to 8.5 then to 8.6). Abelgrais do
provide instructions for the mac user but usingthem doesn't work so
far.
Does anyone have ideas as to what could be producing these errors ?
Regards Steve Jarvis
