Maybe even a Pram zap too (cant remember that) I wonder if your new ram is good enough or perfectly OK for your Mac. In any case the next thing I would try would be to remove the ram and see if the problem persists. Sometimes ram can work but be flaky. When restarting all that is loaded and held in ram is NOT released, but some is held on to. I know this because 'search and rescue' is a utility that can rediscover lost text after a crash and a restart. This doesn�t give me any answers for you but does suggest that there could indeed be a link between your recently added ram and a failure to restart. I don�t think it would be related to Desktop database files but it could be worth checking the HD with DiskWarrior in case you had Disk directory problems I cant imagine why Photoshop wont work - I assume you've tried deleting and reinstalling? (at least delete any preferences and remove any plugins - or try with MAC OS Extensions only) afraid I cant remember your thread. When I see anyone struggling with a System that itself is very limited, I feel it would be unhelpful if I didn�t mention that much more capable and expandable Macs are now very very cheap. (I know you want to get YOUR mac well etc but I have just jumped up from a PM5500/G3/300/128 running MacOS9.1 and why did I stay cooped up in that thing so long? (OK - money.
