If you don't mind Applescript, the "simple" department might also include ConferWeb (www.caup.washington.edu/software). I've let the site get a little dusty, but the CGI works on OS9 with MacHTTP, WebStar and others, and on OSX with (apple's) apache. With WebStar it has some problems, but I think I'm on the way to solving those.
