Wendi,
Were you protecting your modem from surges also?
That topic was a thread on here maybe within the past year along with
what makes for a "good" surge protector (IMHO-lifetime warranty and
insurance protection).
If yours was a "good" one, you'll want to save it for the manufacturer
and might get your repair or replacements costs paid for.
