Filemaker Pro version 7 has just been released. Although I haven't had my
hands on it yet, I have read quite a bit about it and thought I should share
this here. The new version is - by far - the most significant upgrade of
that product in the last decade. Many things that were difficult to do in
previous versions are now quite easy. In addition, performance and capacity
are greatly improved.

The reason I mention this here: I understand that there are several people
on this list who are new FMP users, or who plan to be. To anyone in that
position, I'd strongly suggest that you upgrade to the newest version
_before_ investing a lot of your time. Many of the skills you'd have to
develop to make good use of earlier versions are now obsolete.

Bad news - it's not OS9 compatable.
