I think it was for me... I was a total newbie to any computer, and used the free tech rep telephone walk-through on many occasions. I have had DSL from the start, so that was a possible for me... I suppose those who use cell phones can do the same thing, though. My computer's hard drive waited until a couple of days after the AppleCare warranty was over to give up the ghost. But it could have been sooner... I felt much more secure with it, and would buy it again if I ever replaced my computer. Mike
