I think there is also the minimalist factor.  I am
trying to get away from all the different boxes and
wires that typically go with electronic equipment. 
The new iMac seems to be a great big step in that
directions (except for no TV tuner built in).  I would
like to fit it all on my family room bookshelf
(alongside all the books).

I was in Target the other day and they are already
marketing flat screens for kids rooms so they can have
their TV and computer monitor both in the same small
space.  Boy, I didn't have THAT when I was a kid (not
that I think it is a good thing).
