One thing to keep in mind, Greg, is that this sort of thing is so 
noteworthy in Mac discussions because it's so uncommon.  I push the 
heck out of my setup and have never seen it - not once.  In fact, I've 
only two hard restarts of this machine since going with OSX - both 
times because of a program that wouldn't quit.  The program has been 
updated since, and is no longer a problem.  However, there's no 
perfection, and however rare, it can happen again.

In the Windoze world, the BSoD is a topic of consternation as much as a 
topic of conversation, because it's not so rare.  Some systems are 
further from perfection than others.
