Those are the procedures I've used (and running Disk Utility) and
  the problem got fixed one way or another.

Since you've already done the unplug thing, I don't have any other
  suggestions besides a thorough examination by an advanced disk
  tool set to make sure your necessary file systems are all present and
  healthy.  Hopefully, LaCie will have more with their response.
