Thanks, Russ, it really puzzles me, because i had no difficulty using 
it on my ibook. But now here in the Silver keeper my external drive is 
grayed out , if I change destinations, they show up in black. Well, I 
have resigned myself to wait and hear form LaCie, if I ever hear from 
them. They have a phone number, but had 13 calls, an unlucky number, 
ahead of me. So I shall wait awhile. The trouble is, I did not put the 
device in myself, so I really don't quite know how it was done in the 
first place.
